UC Sampdoria is a traditional football club from the Italian port city of Genoa. The club was founded in 1946 and plays its home games at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. Sampdoria won the Italian championship in 1991 and reached the European Cup final in 1992. The club is one of Italy's most famous football clubs.
